Carnets de Voyage or The Motorcycle Diaries is an inspiring and thrilling adventure that traces the youthful origins of a revolutionary spirit. The film follows two daring friends, Ernesto "Che" Guevarra and Alberto Granado, who hop on the back of a beat-up motorcycle for a breathtaking and exciting road trip across Latin America.It just surprised me because I never thought that the revered Che Guevarra was studying to be a doctor(he never finished) , that he is from Argentina and was an asthmatic. I really need to know more about the life of Che Guevarra. This film does not chronicle his revolutionary pursuits but the origin of the revolutionary, his being compassionate to the people of Latin America, from the lepers, the miners, the ethnic tribes and to women (he was hot really by the way).
I'd give it 7 out of 10 . The DVD version has Chinese, Thai, Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, English and French subtitles. The director is Walter Salles Of Brazil's "Central Station" fame. The film stars Gael Garcia Bernal and Rodrigo de la Serna.
